Human Capital Management-Technical Writer

American EPAY Services Pvt. Ltd., a growing SaaS provider of human capital management solutions, is looking for a Technical Writer to work at our Noida office. Duties

  • Produce and maintain high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience

  • Work with the training team and other depts. to obtain various education related requirements and then assist in building a powerful knowledge base

  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of EPAY's integrated HCM suite

  • Produce easy-to-understand user guides, installation guides, technical blogs, online help, white papers, release notes, release notifications, and/or knowledge articles

  • Research and understand the marketing needs for a product and perform documentation design based on your understanding of these and the needs of our customers

  • Organize and prepare information for publication and develop publication concepts

  • Participate in product design and status meetings

  • Verify documentation through hands-on testing

  • Take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures

  • Create training videos for our in-house software and hardware products

  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities

  • Improve customer satisfaction by introducing new techniques around training and education, ensuring optimal use of all available tools like LMS and customer community

  • Assist in identifying the quality controls and SOPs required in maintaining a Document Library and other Customer Education related projects

  • Work closely with the internal marketing team for brand promotion activities as well as other depts. (including software development) to maintain EPAY's branding



Desired Skills & Experience


  • Must have 5-8 years of experience in technical writing or in the technical communications domain (NOT content writing or blogging)

  • Possess a college degree in a related field such as English, Technical Communications, Engineering, or Computer Science

  • Excellent command of U.S. English (understanding, speaking, and writing)

  • Ability to write clearly and concisely using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation

  • Proven ability to write conceptual, task-oriented, and reference documentation with equal facility

  • Experience interpreting technical specifications, user stories, configuration files, code, and other technical documents as source material

  • Possess good planning, estimation, and organization skills

  • Ability to work independently and possess good judgment, positive attitude, and an innovative spirit

  • Ability to work with cross-functional global teams, including developers, peers, architects, and marketing managers in remote locations and in various methods (phone, email, web conferencing)

  • Ability to work on multiple deliverables for multiple products simultaneously and under time constraints

Technical and Tools Knowledge


  • Proven ability to learn new products, technologies and technical material

  • Experience with standard office and documentation tools,including Microsoft Office 2010 or later (Required); MadCap Flare or a similar topic based XML editor (Required); Camtasia or similar video editing tools (Preferred); Content Management System (Preferred); Adobe FrameMaker; Visio; Image capture and editing tools, RoboHelp; HubSpot; Salesforce as well as documentation preparation delivery mechanisms (e.g., online Help, Web help, PDFs, HTML, etc.)

  • Familiarity with topic-based writing and/or DITA, and CSS

  • Exposure to software development tools, including source control tools, and processes, including design, development, and quality assurance is a plus

  • Ability to handle the documentation lifecycle from inception to publishing
